As usual, different people have different experiences with companies.
I have a Saieco Vienna Delux for the last 10 years making 6-10 cups a
day every day. I've had one problem occur 3 times and after the first
experience, I called Saeco directly and talked to the tech guy. He
diagnosed my problem, gave me the part number and transfered me to
'parts'. I bought 2 extra temp sensors just in case for WAY less than
an aftermarket supplier charged me the first time. While he was on
the line, I talked with the tech about low water temperature and he
told me how to remove a resistor to up the temperature. The only
other problem has been the connector for the heater at the circuit
board, which overheats and the connector loses temper and disconnects.
After that, no problems. The people at Saeco have been very, very
nice. AND the machine has made about 25,000 shots of decent coffee
that satisfies our non-connesour tastes quite well. Having said that,
it will go up in smoke tomorrow! If it does, I'll buy another Saeco.
Of course, you can spend a LOT more and get even better coffee, but
you sound like me in that I couldn't really tell if it is that much
better to justify more money. Different strokes.
