This is sounding more and more like a brain box prob if it is heat related.
IIRC, the internal transformer is the part that goes bad the most. If you
don't want to spring for a new box or repair you could hotwire the power to
the heating element so it bypasses the brainbox (jumper across power in to
box / out to heat circuit).

unfortunately, only occurs with a warm to full temp boiler.
