Actually, it was a bad choice, since in Italy a moka pot is a cafetiere :), whereas a french press in France is a cafetiere here (and possibly there as well!).
Sure, they all make coffee, whereas a steam driven espresso machine doesn't make espresso, which, of course, was the original point :)
