I did a quick search and couldn't find any definite answer. I am looking for
a standalone multimeter to use with the Scacedevice, (or possibly a
datalogging multimeter.) The cheapest I have seen on Ebay is a Fluke 16.
Try the instruments at http://www.omega.com
They have a good selection from which to choose, although the software
isn't the best on the dataloggers.
For software try:

Ont of the cheapest digital thermometers I have found is:
http://www.web-tronics.com/digtherwkpro.html
for $20.
Whatever one you choose, be sure to check the refresh rate. Once per
second would not be fast enough IMO. I would look for something with
at least two data points per second to get the best idea of what is
going on during a 20-30 second event. Other opinions may vary.
If you can afford a Fluke, and the Fluke software, that is probably
the best choice overall, but it is hard to substantiate that
invenetment for hobby use for a lot of folks...
Sears also sells a few multimeters that also do temp measurements.
