Typical lawyer, you want every field *other* than your own to be
simple...:-)

I do something like the above when computing student grades; the actual
algorithm is fairly complicated, but what I tell the students is a simple
summary - if asked for more details, I give them a copy of the program (and
tell them where they can find an S+ reference guide).
