I don't think you could go wrong either way. Adding the PID is a way
to at least partially control one variable (the random nature of the
original button thermostat in regards to shot temp). You can Google
the archives, but I believe that there has not been a single report of
anyone regretting adding a PID to Silvia. But the important thing for
you right now is to get some proper coffee blended and roasted for
espresso.
