Hi (What does the T. stand for, anyway?),
It seems much more likely that you opened the cans many times in the
course of using half of them, and the alcohol, which is extremely
hygroscopic, pulled the water vapor out of the air you let in while
doing so. Each batch of air was mostly replaced while the lid was off,
and so fresh water vapor came in each time as well.
