Actually, I (and my espresso machine) live in Davis...I work in
Woodland which has even crappier water than Davis. Anyway, I buy water
at the Davis food coop. Maybe their machines don't remove all of the
minerals because my low water auto-shut-off feature works fine and the
espresso tastes fine also. Nevertheless, it would be helpful for one
of the "maestros" to post a "definitive" how to on de-scaling the
boiler including specific recommendations for the "best" product to
use for this. Whatever the best product is, it's got to be cheaper
than having the machine rebuilt!
