Wow, this tip was insanely helpful. It was like working with a friendly
putty instead of a sticky nightmare.
I had to remove the screen because I punched a hole in it... So I
figured while it's out I might as well remove all of the silicone on
the inside that the beans would come into contact with. I used a wire
brush attached to my Dremel to really clean it up. The trouble is that
it removed a lot of the silicone that helped strongly attach the glass
to the bakelite, so I put a nice thick band of silicone on the
exterior. It's a nice, thick, smooth band.
So the screen silicone is drying and the band is drying - it should be
fully operational on Monday.
