Check the other thread. Capillary thermostats cost around AUD$50, have
a 4 deg C dead band (half the stock thermostat's deadband), but will be
a real pain to install, as they look nothing like the standard
bi-metallic thermostats.
Installing a PID controller is indeed far easier.
