www.ttdown.com wrote:Hi, I have now had my third faulty I Roast Hearthware roaster in 4 months which is a shame, as when they work they are a crackingly good machine! I am thinking of moving over to an Alpenrost even though it is twice the price in the UK. The only thing I dont like about it is the fact that you cannot see the beans and therefore control when the cool down begins.
Has anyone any thoughts please.
The problem with the Alpenrost is not so much that you can't see the
beans but that it breaks down all the time and has many other
reliability issues. Check the archives here and at coffeegeek for a
large number of negative posts. Mine is kaput once again and I will not
bother fixing it - my old hearthware still runs fine. There's always
the Hottop to consider, but the price in the UK is very steep.

Sorry to hear that George, after all that ya went through.. Mine's still running flawlessly after 4 years 3 months.
