| 1. Blank Shot Temps run @ 160F - I thought I read somewhere that a
| boiler will get the water to ~205F and it will drop to 190F by the time
| it hits the cup. By placing a thermometer in the cup after I pull a
| shot I see no more than 160F immedately.
190 in the cup is quite hot. Actual temp in the cup depends on many factors
(for example, the cup itself), which is why it is better to measure using
Barry J.'s styrofoam cup trick.
| 2. Water Tank - OK.. this might be hard to explain. I've noticed lately
| some "bubbles' coming from one of the tubes in the water tank. Also
| more "boiling" noise than I originally remember.
This *could* be a sign of calcification. More likely, it is your
imagination.
| But my real point of
| concern is that the water in the tank gets warm over time... I haven't
| put a thermo in it yet, but it is pretty warm.
I don't know on this particular machine, but certainly the reservoir can
become heated from the boiler's proximity.
| seem right to me... Am I losing water from my boiler back into the
| water tank?
Absolutely not.
