If the amazon app store works the same on the fire as it does on my phone

Yes you're correct that the browsers are listed in the *web* Amazon
app store. But that's very different from the Amazon *Fire* app store
which is built into the Fire interface. The confusion was my fault, my
apologies.
To use the apps in the web store you need an Amazon Appstore app on
your device to get them. Course that app isn't available in the Fire
app store cause if they wanted you to use that app it would already be
in the Fire store... ;)
My *guess* is that Amazon is being careful making sure the app in
question works with the Fire before posting it to the store. Better
for customer relations. In time I imagine the browsers will be
available too unless Amazon does have the dark intentions that that
web site I posted would have you believe.
Just for fun I went ahead and got Dolphin from the web store and it is
now listed on my Amazon account. If I can figure out how to get the
..apk file direct to my Fire I may give it a try. Course I could
install the Appstore app on my phone, get it, and sideload it to the
Fire. Or easier I could get Dolphin from the Google store (already on
my phone) and just side load it. Not that I need Dolphin since that
would make 5 browsers on the Fire...a bit of overkill wouldn't you
say... ;)
BTW the Fire has performed flawlessly so far. I am quite pleased,
especially for the price. Amazon may have another winner here.
