I am *way* beyond my last Vzw contract for my LG 6100. I would like to replace it with a used phone from Ebay or Craigslist. I am considering the Samsung UCH960 or LG vx9900, noth of which have EVDO capability.
My primary interest is replacing my old phone with one that doesn't trigger a new data plan or new contract, since I am grandfathered into free data. Would I be able to use a replacement phone with EVDO to surf the web without triggering a data charge? My current phone surfs the web using the 1x data connection.
Your best bet would be to visit your local Verizon Wireless store and ask. I'm sure that everyone here has an opinion on the subject and some of them might even be correct. Still, I think that VZW is the place to go!
Remember! Before signing ANYTHING, read carefully. If they get your signature on a contract, you are stuck with it for the next two or three years!
