No, not at all. I have the 8360, one month old, and the battery lasts "a
long time" per charge with moderate use. Unless you can easily swap out a
battery at a Verizon store (or wherever you got it, if local) make sure you
get a new phone because the problem may be in the phone's charging/draining
circuitry.
