Yeah, here's some things you should know.
1) Smartphones are not like regular phones. No real comparison.
2) You will have to spend from $25 to $60 over and above the voice plan costs.
3) Smartphones do not have Get-it-now
4) Smartphones do not have Mobil Web
5) Smartphones cannot use "Backup Assistant" from VZW
6) Smartphones cannot use VZNavagator
7) Smartphones cannot use VCAST
8) Smartphones cannot use VZW's TV app (whatever it's called)
9) Apps for Smartphones are purchased primarily from 3rd party vendors, not VZW. Also freeware.
Assuming you know all these things about Smartphones, it just comes down to feature set and look-n-feel. Go to a VZW store and look at them, feel them, work them, and then decide. Keep in mind that Blackberry's do not have all the 3rd party app potential of other Smartphones. Also that Blackberry has it's own proprietary mail server system that you are required to subscribe to.
If all this sounds negative, it is not meant to be. Just want to mention some of the things that I myself would have liked to know before entering the Smartphone world. I now have a Palm Treo 700wx with an unlimited data plan and tethering plan and I love it. Not cheap though.
