On my LG VX6100, to set the WAP details, press the "Menu" button. Press
zero, enter the Service Code 000000 (those are 6 zeroes, not letter O),
select WAP Settings, select Proxy Address, select Primary Address, enter
"hopke.net" with no quote marks.

When I press OK, the phone will reset. On my phone, once it has
restarted, I press the Web button, which is the left side of the center
OK button. This connects me to WAP.

Thanks, this is very exciting. I have to first get a way to connect my
phone to my computer. I tried doing it exactly as you say but the
destination is locked to a VZW site.

I presume I can connect ty my computer through bluetooth -- or has this
function been disabled? In other words, must I get a USB cable?

More questions: This "proxy" business. Is that simply a gateway through
which I can access web pages? And once I connect, should I assume I will
be charged only for minutes used?

Sorry if I seem like a dolt -- this is all new to me.

Angelo

In addition to changing the proxy address, you likley will want to change
the default homepage away from the Vzw page. You can use any web page as a
home page. Previously someone mentioned www.google.com., I use
www.skweezer.net, you can choose any site you like. It's probably best to
use a page that is made to diplay quickly and properly on the very small
screen. Some other people use www.pdaportal.com although I could never get
it to display properly on my phone.

What I am discussing doesn't do anything to connect your phone to your
computer. It only causes your phone to display the web through WAP as any
computer can display the web.

You might start another thread or search past messages for help with
"tethering" your phone to your PC via BT.
