Hi. I'm eligible for my NE2 in a couple of weeks and I think I've narrowed
my choices down to these 2 phones. Can anyone provide pros or cons of buying
either phone?
thanks!
A.....
I'm running an E815 & to me this is a ...no-brainer.
Please let me begin by stating.....
Aside from the fact that Verizon ..., who is the non-police
dictatorship of the telecom industry, has disabled the full
functionality of the Bluetooth (they only want you to use their apps
with their service contracts). Coupled with providing poor customer
service, I believe they do provide the best reception and call quality.
Unfortunately, this is the only reason to stick with the tyrant. If
you don't already know this then you have a lot coming.
That being said ...I'm running an e815 for over a year now and I have
no regrets whatsoever. If you want a phone that has great call quality
that also... has a camera, 1.3 Mpixel/4x zoom. (if I want pics I just
use ...a camera), It's there nevertheless. The unit comes with 48MB
of storage but I went with the 512MB transflash card that slips into
the back of the rig very easily. That card is also great for MP3
storage (9-10 Cds or a jillion photos) There is also headphones..$20,
for the phone's MP3 player or you can go with an FM tuner ...$15 that
interfaces with the phones built in FM Tuner App w/9 presets. The
transflash card is the key to this great phone. That little card slides
into an SD card which in turn will slide into most machines of this
day. 512MB is quite a bit of space for a cell too.
The web is also there for you too but I won't go into that because I
found the content somewhat redundant. The latest news, sports & weather
is always there. Everything else is garbage and fee based. I never buy
anything from the angry tyrant other than my service plan. I like it
that way too.
Battery Life, I originally charged my battery AS INSTRUCTED in the
manual and I now only have to throw it on the charger once every two or
three days. It holds a charge better than most all phones on the
market.
Lastly, Ringtones, The wonderful folks at Howard Forums have me making
MY OWN using Audacity to edit wav or mp3s and then using Razorlame to
convert back and compress to MP3. Once this is done I post them up to
my free account on Funformobile.com where I can send them to worthy
cell phones across the country.
Send me your cell # and carrier and I'll shoot you ONE.
Lastly, No I really mean it this time. Ask a Razor owner how they felt
the last time they dropped their unit? They prob just about had a
heart attack. The Razor is slim but is heavy and does not land very
well when it hits the ground. The "cooool" metallic case is the
reason. My E815 has hit the ground several times and has not missed a
beat. The case on the e815 is ergo and made very well.
If you want to look cool sipping you're latte in front of Starbucks (or
in my eyes look like a big DB) then get the Razor. I myself go for the
FUNCTIONALITY that my E815 provides me with. When I want web, music or
just listen to the ballgame I just plug in and go about my business.
There really isn't much to think about here.
I'll be interested to see how many Razor owners actually take the time
to give you THE TRUTH about ownership like I have.
Okay, Lets hear it??
I can see why customer service has not been kind to you. They have
been very kind to me each time I call.
I really don't care about crippling bluetooth.
I have some great ringtones on my 815 without buying them.
Actually, I like sipping my coffee at starbucks with my 815. I look
cool anywhere.
Other than that I agree about the 815.
Well... It appears that Teddy is just ....the DB I spoke of in my
reply.
Keep up the great work with your whining and next time bring something
with substance to the table. This is not the sissy Starbucks chat room
your familiar with.
Time to trade the e815 in for the Razor so you can really play the
part.
Read the replies to your whine and .....get a clue Teddy
Actually, the Starbucks chatroom is a fun place. I chat with your
mother all the time.
Teddy boy....It appears that your mentality is coming through loud &
clear in your posts.
I would also imagine that you'll probably remove yourself from this
group as everyone knows that you simply aren't contributing anything
intelligent. Everyone here also knows that when a person stoops to the
level of calling out one's mother you stepped over the line between
being an idiot and being an ignorant idiot. Its a wonder you have not
already been removed by the group's moderator.
We will all remember you by "Teddeli"I unless of course you change your
nickname over to IGNORANT IDIOT.
Time for your daily latte Teddy boy. :)
