I've never been charged a "turn-on fee" or a phonebook transfer. Is this a
*new* thing?

Uh no they charge $10.00 and also charge a service fee of $25 to "turn
on" your new phone even if you are a long time customer.

Verizon Wireless kiosk within Circuit City and I picked up my "new
every two" E815 phone and learned that there was a promotion running
until July 1st that gives you a FREE Jabra BT150 with this phone.
My "old" phone is a V710 and I'm very pleased with the look and feel of
the E815 and the several calls I made on the ride home were great.
To add icing to the cake while buying the phone tonight, the woman
helping me was quite easy on the eyes, and she waived the $10 fee to
transfer the contacts from my old phone because she said that I seemed
nice.
All in all, a pretty good experience.
I did not get the insurance option and I haven't purchased a case yet
because I haven't found one that I like.
off the streets. Buy a new phone and its free. Sounds like she wanted
you to think it would cost, give it to you for free, then you will tell
your family and friends.
