I've never been charged a "turn-on fee" or a phonebook transfer. Is this a

Uh no they charge $10.00 and also charge a service fee of $25 to "turn
on" your new phone even if you are a long time customer.

They charge 10.00 to transfer ? Verizon owned store charges 5.00 if just
off the streets. Buy a new phone and its free. Sounds like she wanted
you to think it would cost, give it to you for free, then you will tell
your family and friends.
