It's set to "*86".

"*86" is actually the number the phone dials.

If you prefer, you can set it to dial a 10-digit number, but by
default it just dials *86.

It really should be set to your own cell number to insure capability
in extended service areas.

It's worked everywhere I've been for the past 3 years -- native
or extended.
