Re: Verizon Aircard Software disables Ethernet port?

I hate to tell you, but the newer cards and software intentionally kill any
networking, so you can't share the data stream with other machines (ie the
newer ones that have both NationalAccess and BroadbandAccess) .. It did work
in the past, but the newer versions of their software no longer do, and will
disable any networking (or ICS) it sees...

Found a workaround (unfortunately not free, and in my experience, most
lawyers won't even spend a penny), but the data cards work fine in the
Kyocera KR1 wap/router (http://www.kyocera-wireless.com/kr1-router/) it is a
combo wap/router, that basically allows multiple computers to connect either
wireless or wired, and the kr1 acts like a server to whatever is attached...

Too bad, they work real well.
I couldn't work without mine...

Seriously, it isn't the card that is at issue here.
It's the install of the manager. And, I personally use the DUN
to access and dial the card. Don't even use the VZW manager
application.
You will go dooooh!! when you do find the 'bug' - it will be some
setting somewhere. I'd bet it has to do with your enabling WiFi management
when
installing it. Somehow, due to a quirk in the settings - or not getting
the settings
back to where they were, (like re-joining a domain). In fact, I'd bet the
machine
name or the domain got changed. Causing the machine not to have
permissions on the network.

Ok, thanks, I'll do that if this reinstall doesn't fix it.

No aircard will go in my machines, that's for sure....
