Re: Verizon Data service--SMTP?

I disagree here. Most people don't have a clue about how smtp
works, where email servers sit, or that they restrict access and
how or why. They just have their printed copy of the settings from
their ISP that they are supposed to enter in their email client and
they assume that once on the net, location doesn't matter.

Fraid I don't understand you disagreeing.. There are many people that have
multiple email address's/IPS's.. (Home and work, home and while on vacation,
second home, etc). Even in the travel and RV world, you usually have one ISP
at home, and another when on the go. While I understand the trying other
ones, your disagreeing seems to say don't try and use the other server, just
use the new email and never access the other. In this case, the op has cable
and a specific mail server at home, but THINKS he needs to ONLY use the mail
server on his verizon phone/isp, and never be able to see the mail on his
home ISP...

From what you wrote, it sounds like you actually AGREE (once on the net,
location doesn't matter)
