Re: Phone comparisons? (Sam vs. Moto vs. LG, etc.)

Thanks for the replies (anyone else? :) ). I'll check the Howard Forums
too.

I realize that there are people that blow up their one particular
problem into something else and can skew apparent opinion if they post
about it 100 times (I try to notice when that happens and take into
account).

About the "professional" reviewers vs. forums - I do check CNET and
they can be useful for features and initial quality, but it takes end
users to spot reliability, real-world reception, or other 'lemon'
issues. Sometimes certain models have defects or issues that come up a
lot and I was hoping to weed those out (when I researched my Sprint
phone a couple of years ago it became apparent that the Samsung N400
was a dud because of earpiece electronic disconnection issues so I
ruled that out even though on paper it was my favorite phone).

It looks like cell phones in general have improved since the last time
I was looking for one. Last time I got a used b/w phone (Sam N200 which
I will hate to part with - that thing is indestructable and I really
like the joystick) since the color screens were sucking all up the
battery power (it is really annoying that in the rush to keep up with
the Joneses that they release phones with features that are not ready
for prime time).

Feature-wise I really just want a visible incoming call window and
speakerphone, and a lot of models have those these days (no need for
music or video (???) on my phone. I think we have a ways to go before
phones will be competitive with dedicated mp3 players).
