Want to know if anyone has 1st hand experience or educated guess about
whether my Verizon cell (homebased in Seattle) will work in Merritt, BC.
It's surrounded by mountains, Hope, BC is nearby & not as down in a valley,
I expect I may have a better chance there. ??????
For CDMA and analog coverage:

Full 1x digital coverage in Merritt and on Highway 5 on the way there.
Note that for Alaska-bound travellers, who would take Trans-Canada 1, the map shows (quite accurately in my experience!) that you lose coverage pretty quickly once you leave Hope! I would also take the analog coverage on the Alaska Highway (highway 97 from Dawson Creek through Fort Nelson and then to the Yukon) with a grain of salt. In my experience, once you leave Fort St. John's digital coverage area cell service is unusable with a handheld phone until you get into Fort Nelson, and afterwards there is nothing until Whitehorse.
