Well, I have been posting on Usenet for many, many years and I have to
disagree with you on top-posting. Many prefer top-posting and on most
groups it is quite common if not the most common practice. People do have
to be considerate and either incorporate the question at the beginning or
put a little from it above, as I have done here. I agree about "thoughtful
snipping".
Top-posting does not mark one as a newbie but the use of insulting language
like "jerks" to describe people who simply disagree with you does mark one
as exactly that, IMHO.
