Yes, and Verizon's only "solution" is to turn off text messaging
completely. If you foresee the need to have text messaging, VZW forces
you to pay for all the unsolicited texts (spam or typo addressed emails
you get as well.
Why they don't have a mechanism for the user to allow texts only from
specified sources is beyond me. Actually, it's quite simple: they have
no financial reason to do that when they can kick back and make money
off unsolicited texts to their customers.
