Verizon V710 Settlement

The deadline is is 2 weeks to send in the form if you want part of the
verizon settlement.
My question is this:
The settlement is only for people who purchased the V710 BEFORE Jan 2005. I
got mine a few weeks into January. Do the settlement people really have a
way of checking when I purchased my phone or am I out of luck?
The settlement, quite frankly, should cover all people purchasing that
phone. I bought mine specifically so I could sync my numbers/phone book
with my car via bluetooth. And then I couldn't despite the fact they told
me it was a fully functional bluetooth phone. Why do they have a jan
cutoff?
