In Minnesota it is still pretty widely used. I roam onto AMPS several times a
year. I have received and made calls while roaming on AMPS. I am pretty much
an urban dweller, so I am definitely not exceptional in a state where
everybody goes up north to their cabin ... in AMPS country. The same can be
said for Wisconsin as well. I suspect it is also true for Michigan and
Montanna ... and probably several more states.
