Are you SURE you want to do that?
Assuming your answer is yes, I'd wait and do it on 3/21. When I switched
from AT&T to TMo the switch happened the same day - within hours. I
suppose I was charged for service from both on that day but that's no
big deal.
DO NOT switch before the contract expires. If you do you will be billed
for the early termination fee automatically. This happened to my partner
because he switched from VZW 9 days early after being a customer for 10
years! We finally got it reversed when they admitted that the contract
extension they claimed was in place had never been approved by an
authorized contact. So, my advice is - wait till Tuesday!
(My partner had changed his plan and accepted a new 2yr contract;
however the account had originally been set up as a business account
with the proviso that only I could make changes or even discuss the
account with VZW. This is typically done with business accounts to
prevent employees from changing things on their own. When my partner
called to ask about the early termination charge they even told him that
I would have to call in as they were only allowed to discuss it with me.
They tried to defend the charge by telling me that 9 days or 9 months
makes no difference. I countered by telling them them that, by their own
rules, they were only allowed to discuss or accept changes to the
account made by me. That means that 1) they weren't authorized to extend
the contract in the first place since they didn't speak to me about it
and; 2) even if I had approved it, they weren't authorized to close the
account without speaking to me which they hadn't. Since I had them
coming and going they reversed the fee.)
My contract with T-Mo ends on 3/20. If I want to singup w/ Cingular
shd I wait till 3/20 so that there wouldn't be any hassles. If I
signup today will the request for LNP be immediately forwarded to
T-MO and would they charge me for breaking the contract?
During the LNP transition will I be charged both by Cingular and T-Mo?
thanks
Jan
