The potential technical problems with the interference have been well known
in the commercial market for decades.

The GPS industry had fixes available but chose, due strictly to cost, not to
implement the design solution. (hint military and high end commercial system
don't have the problem)

Funny but when there was mutual interference between GPS and direct
satellite broadcast there was no question on a fix.
