That was the Justice Department's answer to Gibson Guitars after all
their
ebony for fretboards was seized because of some bullshit regulation.

This is the Obama administration, folks!

Why do you think the Lacey Act is a bullshit regulation? Be sure to
take
3 minutes to check your information about the Lacey Act before
responding.

If they would do some research they would discover that the Lacey act is
so badly written that it can cause guitars made in the '20's all the way
through to today to be confiscated at the border.

It's imperfect, but I don't think that's why the Hack thinks it's a
bullshit
regulation. Let's wait & see if he's able to answer the question like an
actual adult.

YAWN. As usual, it has gone above and beyond the call of the intent.

Fine. But do you agree with the basic idea that there is a need to protect
over-harvested trees? It's a simple yes or no question. Never mind the
imperfections in the methods for the moment.

Has nothing to do with it:

Last week Federal agents raided two Gibson guitar factories in Tennessee
because materials that were used by the guitar maker were allegedly
breaking international laws. The law that Gibson allegedly broke was that
they used wood that wasn't finished by workers in India, and the process
was being completed in plant in Tennessee, therefore making it illegal.

How come this never happened before Holder?

Good question. I'm sure that neither you nor I have the answer.
