Turns out the pair of buses was made in Canada.
Good thing that when he gets back from Martha's Vineyard
(pronounced
"Mahtha's Vinyid" for the rest of you) he's going to talk about
what we
need to do to create jobs in the US...
It turns out that President Barack Obama's multistate tour on jobs
and
the economy is taking place in a $1.2 million bus that was made in
Canada
rather than the United States.

Which is owned in large part by two American business men.
Ground Force One is the nickname given to the custom modified H3-45
VIP
shells used by US President Barack Obama.[3] The interiors were
fitted out
by a Tennessee-based company and it is assumed that other custom
features
were added by the US Secret Service.[4] A similar bus with Prevost
shell was
used by then-President George W. Bush in the 2004 campaign.[5]

PLENTY of American companies could have done that. I used to work
for one
back in the 80's. We did all the same things. Only back then it was
harder
because we had to fabricate a lot of stuff ourselves.
you're talking custom motor coaches at the high end, probably Newell
Coach would be the only American builder that could match what the
Secret Service chose. Then you hit stone walls like Newell's
production rate of 24 units per year and the lead time necessary to
get on the manufacturing production schedule.
You understand that the majority owners of Provost are two American
business men.
As to plenty, there are a lot of users. NASCAR and the entertainment
industry come to mind for most but there are significant general
business users as well.

likely Canadian unless they're doing a long haul to Quebec each day.
Jobs for Americans seems to be at the heart of Hachi's current rant.
And GM makes 100% of its parts in the good old USA (hint they just move
several hundred jobs from DFW to Mexico and wanted the American workers
to teach the replacements how.
As to the URL you posted, Will Smith had a slightly smaller one by the
same company) in NYC but I doubt they would meet the Secret Service
need for mobility, If, indeed, 0 to 60 mph in 30 seconds is mobile
(Newell Couch specs in Popular Mechanics)
It was a joke (link) son.
Then I missed the sultry.
As to the line it's a quote from the old cartoons not an acknowledgement
of parentage. But then since I'm not married to your mother ...
It's a joke, I say, it's a *JOKE*, son!
