I had a (somewhat) similar problem with a dodge van. Vehicle would
stall
after a fill up and we had error codes for the evaporative emission
system
(don't recall the codes). Ended up being a problem with a value in the
system that was intended to vent vapors back to the engine. Some how
the
valve would only act up with the vehicle was just filled up/topped off
and
was driven less than 2-3 miles. After that it worked fine. Part was
cheap
but the labor to fix ... as it required the dropping of the fuel tank.


Sounds like you were topping it off. That's why they say "Don't top off
the tank"!

Part of it depends on the type of vapor recovery system used by the
station.


No problem for the first 70K with the process so I doubt it was caused by
toping off. Regardless replacing the value/vent system cleared the problem.
