You said "If NYT staffers want a story, maybe they gotta hang out with
Fox News teams."

EXACTLY. Fox people can talk to Palin because she actually LIKES them.
NYT people cannot talk to Palin because she does not like them.

I'm pointing out the absurdity of that suggestion. The chairman himself
is not in the business of presenting news. He's off his rocker. But
he's one hell of a salesman.

But pointing that out is akin to responding to a comment about the
weather with a report on what you had for lunch. Apples and oranges.
Milk and gutter water. Ice Cream and rocks. Nuclear energy and a candle.

Fox can talk to Palin because Ailes is an expert at arranging what appear
to be news stories. In fact, they're setups. That was his first job in
politics: Arranging "fixed" audiences for Richard Nixon.

Ailes did not fix the audience, he fixed Nixon so that the audience could
stand to listen to him.

Nobody can fix a television audience. Yes, the studio audience can be
fixed (rigged), slanted in the candidate's favor. Te viewing audience
cannot be fixed, but the candidate himself (or herself, as the case may
be) can certainly be fixed (repaired) so that the candidate is more
palateable. That is what Ailes did for Nixon.

Some of Nixon's so-called "audiences" were paid, and what appeared to be
news conferences were actually paid programming, no different than the 30
minute vegetable slicer crap you see on late night TV. You need to read. I
was going to say "You need to read more", but the word "more" implies that
you already read, which is obviously not the case.

I know why the Hack is afraid of reading. What's YOUR story?
