Apparently you never served in the military or you would know that vets that
did not see combat will readily admit the did not but the fact is when one
enlists in the military they have no idea were they will be asked to serve.

You are confused. Apparently you forgot, more likely never heard of,
the
Lend Lease Program that began in 1939, which was not a loan nor a
lease,
that made it possible for England, Russia and the free French to
fight
the
Germans and Italians. When the US did send its troops to Europe,
the
Germans were ready to take England.
If not for the Marshal Plan it would have taken Europe thirty years
to
rebuild. By the way if you do a search you will discover which
country
was the first to pull our all of its troops out of Europe. Hint, it
begins with a "C," and it was the same country that was first to pull
its
NATO troops out of Iraq, as well.
Not confused at all. Americans shamefully didn't get involved until
into
1941, AFTER Hitler declared war directly on the USA.
At least the Government of the time made the right decision, but it
was
one
of self defense, not world defense. Let's too not forget that when
travelling throughout Europe we hear the stories of WWII American
soldier's
sexual misconduct, and abuse of civilians. Even today there are many
children who were born from rape by American soldier. As horrendous
the
German forces were, they have never been know for rape, nor where the
troops
from any other country. The reason the Americans are left out of most
if
not
all remembrance services throughout Europe.
Can you back up these statements with evidence?

OMG you don't know?

The rest of the world sure remembers

You've backed up that American soldiers raped during WWII. Please show
that the Nazis never raped nor troops from other countries. And that
this is the reason why Americans are left out of *all* remembrance
services throughout Europe.
Jeff
There are no books or historical articles that prove rape was a problem
with other troops. I'm sure there were individual men acting alone as
rapists are everywhere, however, with the US troops is was a widespread
problem and often involved group participation on a scale the merited
publication.
I've read articles that argued there were also mass rapes by US troops in
some Japanese villages, but none of them were written by an authoritative
source like a historian or other social researcher of merit, so I'm
reluctant to believe those particular claims.
I've attended WWII remembrance services in many European countries and
have witnessed personally a Canadian Prime Minister and/or Governor
General being invited to celebrate on Remembrance Day throughout the
years. I do not recall seeing any government official of significance
invited to represent the US troops.
I maintain great respect for the vets who acted honorably from WWI and
WWII no matter what nation they are from. Those individual troops who
acted horrendously in groups or individually should be pointed out and
dishonored rather than getting to wear the same hero badge as the
honorable vets. Same with people boast about being a part of WWII, but
they were in jobs that never had them anywhere near the action, or holding
guns. Sure they played a roll, but please don't boast like they
singlehandedly fought off the enemy LOL.
