I fail to see where the American people owe any insurance company
their business. If a McDonalds can't deliver food in a clean
atmosphere, people stop going to it and it closes down. If a book
publisher can't publish profitable books, it goes out of business. If
a car company can't make money at selling cars or a bank has too many
bad loans, does the federal gov't take it over? Oops, bad examples.

I see no reason why we should care if insurance companies stay in
business. And, I don't owe the owners of the insurance companies (that
is, the stock holders) anything.

If we (that is the people) can do health insurance without insurance
companies using up valuable funds on administration (meaning attempts
to prevent paying docs money for benefits for which people pay) and
profit. I am not agianst people making profit; I just don't see why we
should give profit to these people.

I'm not sure I follow you here. Are you saying private insurance is a
bad thing?
I gladly give up my $200.00 a month for "full" family coverage to insure
against me paying a HUGE hospital bill or any other medical instances.
My "investment" pays off when it is most needed, to protect me.

I am saying is that I don't see any reason why we should pay investors
anything. Rather, the money that goes to investors and to most of the
people who administer the programs (e.g., the people who work for
doctors to get docs and hospitals paid from health insurance and the
people who work for insurance companies whose main job is to find
excuses why the insurance companies shouldn't pay the bills owed)
could go to the people who pay the premiums, that is the employers of
pay the premiums and the tax payers.
