Yah right. How can the VP give direct orders to the CIA? The VP is not
in charge of anything. I don't think there's enough wind in that one to
blow a match out. What will these poor lefties come up with next. I
think they think they are going to lose the next election. And, I think
they are right.

Bush put their guys in charge to really screw things up. I guess you
missed the report that showed a white house staffer planted a bogus
paragraph in a CIA report which was then quoted by Cheney and Bush.
Just that was illegal.
You guys have to start reading newspapers instead of just listening to
Beck/Hanity/O'Reilly.
You keep posting your imaginary nonsense that your dnc bloggers
brainwash you with. You really need to strive for some independent
thinking and not be so submissive and easily led, like some wayward
sheep.

I don't agree with Ed on very many issues, but there is no reason to
disbelieve that the VP holds sway over the CIA. Biden might not hold much
sway over any department or agency, but that says more about Biden than the
office he holds.
You have to remember Cheney's background -- he was pulled from Bush, Sr.'s
cabinet, and has been very close to the Bush family for decades and Cheney
knows his stuff.
Some of us might not agree with his tactics, but it is very difficult to
argue the point that he knows what is going on and how to get what he wants.
There is no reason to argue against the idea that Cheney drove the
Administration's agenda relative to national security, particularly in the
arena of intelligence gathering from international sources.
Personally, I would suggest that our interestes are better served by
admitting that we waterboard all terrorist suspects several times a week
even if the fact is that we waterboarded three terrorists a total of 180
times. That's an average of 60 times for each. I suggest that if terrorists
worried about the treatment they might receive, then might not be
terrorists. They KNOW we have uberliberals that loudly and publicly denfend
them, so they will not be treated in a manner to dissuade them from becoming
a terrorist in hte first place. In other words, we fomment terrorism by
giving them ice cream and having movie night.
