Probably was. They're shipped from Japan with Panasonic batteries.
Amazing you got that much out of a Panasonic battery. I like Panasonic
stuff, but have not had good luck with their car batteries. Two have gone
bad in two years!
Also bad are Panasonic oil-filled high voltage capacitors for
microwave ovens. Two in a row failed in less than a year, while their
no-name replacement has been fine for five years.
I change car batteries when they reach five years because so many of
mine (Johnson, Delco) shorted a cell by then, no matter how well they
were cared for.
