Great player or not, it's best to pick someone a bit stable in the first

How DO you live with only four strings? ;-)

I bought a 5 string two years ago!

The main instrument I play has 46 strings. (Hint - I play it using wooden
hammers)
My other instrument has only 1 string. (Hint - hitting notes is all in the
tension applied)

Don't peg me as a sole jugband player tho. While I can do that [rarely actually] I do just about everything else that comes my way as well. I have a group of about a dozen guys that get together every Thursday night and play songs that we can jam to with copious amounts of soloing. Guitars, electric fretless bass, mandolin, occasional banjo, occasional dobro, simple 3 piece drum set, some piano and my hammered dulcimer. We play lots of different stuff and occasionally play out in subsets of us. Here is a list of what we played last week for an example:

I record every week and then as a related hobby sit down and split up that 3 hour MP3 file into the individual songs, then hand out the CDs to the folks to listen to over the next week [which is why I happen to have this list handy to paste in]. Fun stuff.

I also love roaming around Folk Music Festivals all night and playing with anyone who will have me. This provides me with such a broad variety of different styles to play with and most of the stuff I have never heard of before. Fun stuff there too.

Anybody ever learned the Carter Scratch? How 'bout playing the auto harp?

Played along with Carter stuff, but don't know Rodgers. I would love to get my hands on an autoharp but just have not run into one yet that I could fool around with.
