The cause of the telethon? To get people to donate money to make housing
more affordable.

Well, what could be more deserving than Affordable Housing? We need
affordable housing so the less fortunate can afford a nice home.

An example was given: a home that would sell for $280,000 in most
neighborhoods sells for $680,000 in this particular neighborhood.
Something has to be done about these outrageous prices so more people can
afford to live here!!

Where's the 'neighborhood'?

Did you happen to catch anything about exactly who would be the recipients
of the donations?
