So, this would argue that the resolution would be around 600 m for a spybird (because it is 600x farther from the moon than the earth and the resolution on of earth is about 1 m).

I'd like to know what our best spy birds can do, 30 percent better or more?In article <nospam-E364FE.16472129022008@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>,This was a RADAR study and provides different information than the photos do. I suspect they are complementary.

The spacecraft is scheduled to launch in late 2008 and its camera will beam back photos of the moon with details as small as 1 meter."

This was done from California.
Just imagine what that spy satellite the Navy had to shoot down could have
done looking at the Earth!
"1 meter" that's a little bit over three feet, 39.37 inches. Amazing.
The Hubble space telescope took pictures of the moon with about 85 m resolution (280 ft which is around 85 m). http://hubblesite.org/newscenter/archive/releases/1999/14/image/a/
I think we have a hubble like spy bird, but it is sort of old technology now, if it's still up there. Neat thing about radar imaging is we can see below the surface, to some extent. Cheers.
It might be old technology, but it is very good. The Hubble had a few problems with the focusing of the lenses at first, but the Space Shuttle crew fixed them, with help from people on the ground (like the ones who made the new components). There have been other hardware updates as well. So it is pretty up-to-date.
http://www.janes.com/aerospace/military/news/jsd/jsd011017_1_n.shtml talks about the old spy satellite. According to this, the resolution is 0.1 m, so the resolution of the moon would be a little better than 100 m, about the same as Hubble. Of course, I don't know the altitude of the spy satellite; so my proposed resolution is just hypothetical.
