And, you got this information from WHERE/WHO?

Toyota covers this in their FAQs on their website
(http://www.toyota.com/html/help/index.html).

What is Toyota's recommendation for exporting my Toyota vehicle from
the continental U.S. and Alaska?

Answer

If you are moving with your vehicle to U.S. territories, Canada or
Mexico, then your vehicle's existing New Vehicle Limited Warranty
should be honored.

If you are moving with or using your vehicle outside the United
States, U.S. territories, Canada or Mexico and need warranty service,
contact a local Toyota dealership. Please note, however, that your
vehicle may not be repaired free of charge because the local Toyota
distributor may have no obligation to provide warranty service for
your vehicle, and/or your vehicle may not comply with local regulatory
or environmental requirements. In addition, depending on the model, it
may be difficult to obtain the appropriate Toyota Genuine parts for
service and repairs.

If you intend to take your current Toyota vehicle to another country,
we recommend that you:
Contact the Toyota distributor of the country where you plan to take
your vehicle to clarify what type of services they can provide.

Purchase an Owner's Manual and Repair Manual to assist the local
Toyota distributor when performing repair or service for your vehicle.
Please visit our Purchasing an Owner's Manual or Repair Manual FAQ

If you are interested in purchasing a Toyota vehicle to operate
outside of the U.S., Toyota recommends you contact the Toyota
authorized distributor in the country in which you intend to operate
the vehicle to assist you in locating a local dealer. Toyota
dealerships in the U.S. and Alaska are not authorized to sell Toyota
Motor vehicles for resale or use outside the United States.

If you live outside the U.S. and would like to buy a Toyota vehicle,
Toyota recommends you contact the Toyota authorized distributor in the
country in which you intend to operate the vehicle to assist you in
locating a local dealer. Toyota dealerships in the U.S. are not
authorized to sell Toyota motor vehicles to customers located outside
the U.S. In addition, Toyota dealerships in the U.S. are not
authorized to sell Toyota motor vehicles for resale or use outside the
United States.
