It would be helpful if you would provide a brief discription of what we
are to watch before we waste our time, thankyou.

I know that it's out of character for me, but for once I have to agree
with dbu!
A one line description wouldn't kill anyone to input, so we can judge
whether we want to watch this ..... It took five full minutes to
download this 31 seconds of video, and though it was useful in seeing
what this creep looked and sounded like eight years ago, it really wasn't
worth five minutes of my time to do so.
(Yeah, you plutocrats with dsl or cable have it good, I'm still stuck
with dialup although Verizon keeps sending me flyers about how great
their fios (fiber optic) system is....if it were only available!)
OMG, you're still stuck w/dial-up? In that case, I wouldn't even bother
to try to dl any of the videos - unless I was really, *really* interested
in it. I enjoy the often gorgeous & interesting photos from around the
world that amateur photographers post on a binaries group or two, but
before cable became available here, I had given up trying to see them.
In this particular instance - above, one already knew it would be of a
political nature & be ironic in some way. If the subject or text incl.
the senator's name, then it would've been helpful to people in your
situation, re: making a decision to bother or not. But I think people
reacted because it was dbu asking for the info - not you.
Cathy
Thanks for your sympathy, Cathy. Yep, Verizon hasn't gotten around to
wiring our neighborhood for DSL, and the cable co (which used to be
Adelphia) is now Time Warner Cable, and I understand from folks who have it
that it sucks in a most awful way. I would have to get their cable tv and
phone as well to get a halfway decent price, and the only other option is
Hughes Net for satellite internet, which is an arm, leg, and a couple of
other body parts which I'd like to keep. Anyway, there's nothing that'll
get me away from DirecTv. (We've had it for five years, and no service
interruptions ever, whereas our cable would go out and stay out for hours
every few months.)
Downloading photos is not too bad, but for instance, I have a sister in law
who insists on sending me a five minute video of something forgettable, and
it takes so long to download that I just go take a shower while it's doing
so. Grrrrr.
cheers, Mack
