I have Verizon FiOS service, and Verizon gave me a wireless router that
all of my computers can connect through. My kids both have laptops, my
wife has a computer at the other end of the house, and we have a computer
in a common area and one in the garage where they make me stay.
By my posting a few weeks ago, wireless is not my strong suit. But I've
got all of our machines connected to the router without any problem.
PS
Relative to my wireless adaptor (PCI Bus) issues of a week or two ago,
there is definitely an issue relative to the buss power. The machine has
all of the latest drivers, but still shuts down when the power demand
rises when the adaptor is plugged in. I could try a USB-based wireless
adaptor, but the USB that is onboard is USB1, and I use a USB2 adaptor
that is plugged into a PCI slot. The USB2 adaptor might change the power
demands ...
Asking Verizon (or for other members of the forum, your ISP whoever that
is) is an excellent idea. For me, I find their prices a bit high when I
can just walk to Staples and get what I want for less.
Of course, I don't have the services of Verizon when I install the stuff
myself if there are problems.

But if I put a wireless in then it wont interupt the 3 computers I have
wired right? We have two computers we want to be wireless.
No. As others have stated most wireless routers should have 4 or so
wired ports.
Just make sure that since your router is on the 2.8GHZ spectrum that
any cordless phones that may be near it are not also on the 2.8GHZ
range and certainly not a digital spread spectrum type. That'll kill
your wireless network.
Microwaves aren't good near wireless routers, either.
