Re: RAV 4 blows lighter fuse

You have a short that happens when the contacts at the bottom of the socket are made.

Use a plastic probe and a flashlight and look to see what is down there.

My g.f.'s '98 RAV 4 blows lighter fuses instantly when the lighter or a
power adapter (cell phone, ipod, etc.) is plugged in. Is this a known
issue; if so, what? If not, suggestions on best place to look or test
methodology would be much appreciated.
