Dunno about in your district, but in ours, there are evaluations not onlyNot by people that count.....We don't need no education
We dont need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.
Pink Floyd said it sooo well.

Translation: You'd feel just fine about teachers if their voting
records
were monitored, along with their church attendance. (Would certain
denominations be prohibited? Would temple/synogogue count? Mosque?!)
Going out on a (short) limb: If only right-wing church-goers were
allowed
to
teach, something tells me it wouldn't bother you if they not only
stated
their own various POV to the students - at any grade level, but
actively
pushed their agendas, no less.

Actually what needs to be done is to make your job competitive and
measurable.
You need to know you can be fired for being incompetent.
Your performance should be measured and graded.

It is. After teaching for 35 years, I still get formal, written
observations.

by
the state, federal and county officials, but we parents as well.
I think teachers get quite enough ***, without having even more unfairly
pounded on them. For having bachelor's degrees, that get very shitty pay,
and have to put up with not only ever-more-spoiled kids, but their
know-it-all parents.
I would rather be a garbage-truck worker than deal with the amount of
stress
for so little money, that they tolerate.
Instead of tearing them down, we should be trying to *help* them. They
have
a very important job.
Yes they do.
We need to take education away from government and put it in private
hands.
Government doesn't do anything will....least of all education!

I've watched public education go down the tubes since 1962, when we got hit
with the Baltimore decision. (One of these days, it will become as infamous
in the history of bad Supreme Court descisions as the Dred Scott decision or
Plessy vs Ferguson or Roe vs Wade.) What we need to do is ban the NEA from
having any further effect on education and ban them from being 'the
teacher's union'. The only way to do that is to close ALL of the public
schools.
NEA opposes home schooling. Why? From what I've seen, most home schooled
kids are smarter than the public school kids. But they don't have control
over them.
NEA opposes charter schools. Why? Because it show that their efforts to
improve public schools are in most cases an abject failure. It also
represents a loss of their control.
So I've come to the conclusion that the NEA is if not outright loyal to the
Communist Party of the USA, at least a fellow traveler, aka pinko, and
should be treated as such because like the Communist Party, the NEA is about
taking control away from parents and family and putting it in the hands of
apparatchniks.
Hello? The Soviet Union collapsed, and you want to remake the Worker's
Paradise over here? Get a clue. Buy a vowel. Call Vanna White.
