One more to chalk up in (dark) chocolate's favor. :-) In moderation, of
course.
(Except for dogs & cats - the darker the chocolate, the more
toxic/theobromine.)
Cathy
How much chocolate does it take to cause real problems for a 75 lb dog?
Are we talking sick, or dead?
I don't know the exact amounts re: per pound of dog's weight. But... if
small - moderate amount of regular milk chocolate & a large dog, sick. If
bitter chocolate, depending on amount & size of dog, perhaps dead. One dog
of my sister's - a Rottweiler, so he was a large dog - managed to eat a
chocolate bar one night years ago, w/out their knowledge - but he (luckily)
threw it back up on the LR rug. (If they'd -known- he'd eaten it, would've
been on the way to the vet for an emergency appt.)
