That makes them not selfish right-wing pricks?
"Tax cuts for the rich! The children be damned!"
I just read the other day that 70% favor repealing the estate
tax,
even though only 1 in 400 (very wealthy) estates are subject to
it.
Yeah, we live in a country FILLED with rocket scientists.
Estate tax affects everyone, even you dizz. Your old mom passes
away,
God bless her soul, her estate which maybe is willed to you could
be
assessed an estate tax. It's not just the rich dizz. When you
consider
house and personal belongings in addition to her nest egg you
could
very
well be a victim of estate tax.
Stick with GWB as I know you will after you think this all out.
Please help me out here, always benevolent one. In particular, can
you
please
supply some
specific numbers as to the size of old mom's estate? How much much
her
estate
be worth
before Uncle Sam requires a piece of it?
I'm curious because folks like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, folks
who
will
certainly
leave estates of a size that will incur an estate tax (unless it is
repealed
completely),
have repeatedly stated their opposition to elimination of the
estate
tax.
Bill Gates and his friend Warren are so rich they either give it to
places of their choice or give it to the government with no choice as
to
where it goes. Of course they don't want it repealed, they are rich
enough that it won't make any difference. It's the little person who
has a small estate are the ones who will be most hurt. Go do some
research on your own, then report back as I know you will.
I see that you have ducked my question, exactly what I suspected you'd
do.
I've done the
research and know what the numbers are. I wanted to see if you knew
what
they
were as
well, since (reading between the lines) they do not support your
position.
While we're at
it, would you care to address the issue of the basis for the assets in
mom's
estate? If
her heirs inherit her basis (as per GWB's plan), her heirs will owe tax
they
wouldn't owe
under current estate tax law.
Again, how "little" does the "little person" have to be for this to be
a
non-issue to any
rational person?
By the way, about your "Of course they don't want it repealed, they are
rich
enough that
it won't make any difference." argument. If it doesn't make any
difference,
why don't they
want it repealed?
If you already did the research why don't you then post the numbers ?
You are the one who claimed "It's the little person who has a small estate
are the ones
who will be most hurt." yet you refuse to defend that claim with specific
numbers. Some
might interpret that to mean you have no clue as to what GWB's estate tax
proposals mean
to taxpayers of any income level under any circumstance.
Why do you refuse to tell help me determine if I am one of the fortunate
ones
who will be
benefitted by GWB's estate tax plan? You make the bald assertion that it is
good for me,
yet will not explain why. How is that "benevolent?"
Guy/gal, I have no idea what you are babbling about. How in hell could
I know about your finances or your mothers. Go do your own research and
quit depending on others to do the work for you. BTW, I'm not
benevolent anymore, I'm going to be an A.H. like you from now on.
You made a claim that small estates would be hurt most, then refused to define small. I
accept your concession that your claim lacks merit.
