When I say get at total drive home price, not just a selling price, that
applies to every dealer of every brand. You can shop three dealers of the
same brand, on the exact same vehicle, and get three different prices
When I was still in retail the reality was we could always get more out of
the smoke and mirrors packages from the buyers in our foreign brand stores
than we could in our domestic brand stores. You assumption that Toyotas
are inherently better is a mater of opinion in any event. ;)

1. Define "total drive home price." I have no doubt this includes some
sort of fantasy inflation or deflation of the trade.
2. Only a moron would make an economic decision based on "total drive
home price," whatever that turns out to be. The economic decision is driven
by automotive expense. For buyers without trades, this is a function of
price, anticipated length of service, anticipated disposal value,
anticipated operating costs (insurance, maintenance, repair and fuel). I
prefer to work it out to a monthly projection.
I have no doubt that when you were in retail, you were able to find plenty
of morons who focused on "total drive home price," to their ultimate sorrow.

That is one reason GM sells so many more cars than Toyota. Have I notbeen
telling you guys in this NG for a long time that it is the total drivehome
price that one should be comparing when you purchasing a new vehicle? That
is why I left Lexus for domestics way back in 1998. I save so muchI
money
can buy extra cars. ;)

Yeah, like no GM or Ford dealer ever tried to lay on a non-optional
option.
Hahahaha!
Paint sealant is hardly a reason to ditch Toyota altogether and buy a
piece
of crap instead. Scott's solution works for him and eventually SE Toyota
may
wise up and treat him better. If that was the worst thing a Ford dealer
had
ever done to me, I would be much happier today.

As a Honda owner, I recently looked at the Camry as an alternative
getwas
thatimpressed with what you get for the money. However, I was surprised
plusin GA you are stuck whenever you buy a Toyota you must buy a $600.00
paint sealant et al Toyogard package regardless.
<snip>
That damned 600 dollar fee is for everyone in the South East.
My son just bought an 06 Corolla. We bought it in Philadelphia to
away from that damned fee. Hell it was cheaper to fly to Philly and
pick up the car there than pay that outrageous fee. I told my local
dealer that I'd NEVER pay that highway robbery....LOL
