How can the statement:
> If in October 2004, 1,000,000 republicans in the state of Ohio were
> abducted by aliens, and then summarily shot, John Kerry would have won
> the presidential election. Now this would be impossibly ridiculous and
> morally reprehensible, but it remains a fact.
Be even remotely considered racist? There is no reference to race in
it at all. Neither is there anything in the statement that says
whether I would want 1,000,000 republicans from Ohio to be abducted by
aliens or not. The possible answers remain the same:
A) I disagree
B) I agree
C) I don't know.
Selecting "B" doesn't mean that you WANT 1,000,000 republicans from
Ohio to be abducted by aliens and shot. By selecting "B" you are only
agreeing to the hypothetical.
Maybe you could find some facts to support selecting "A". Something
like....The alien abductions would inspire a groundswell of support for
conservative ideals and John Kerry would have lost several other states
because of it and therefore wouldn't have won the election.
In any case, I don't see any harm in arguing the point either way.
